In every aspect of his or her work, the actor is accompanied by a feeling experience, be it in meeting the text, receiving direction (or not), hearing criticism, performing in front of an audience (or the camera), etc. We might hide our feeling-responses from people around us, or even from ourselves. Michael Chekhov suggests that what comes to our feeling life as Sensation, is a doorway to our artistic nature. In this 4-hour workshop we will explore how following Sensation can bring inspiration to the performance situation.
Please bring a text that:
* you feel inspired or intimidated by
* you feel right or wrong for as an actor
* is between 1-2 minutes in duration
The tuition is $80 (this includes a free audio download of an exercise on sensation after the workshop). Upon acceptance into the workshop, a $30 deposit is required to hold your space. The remaining amount ($50) is due on the day of the workshop. (*If you are unable to make the workshop, but wish to receive the audio-exercise only, please inquire.)
