Actors, Writers, Performers…  Jumpstart your Solo Theatre Piece. For beginner or advanced students alike.

This weeklong intensive is designed for those interested in creating a solo project; whether inspired from personal experience, dream granules, gut obsessions, or newspaper articles. This workshop is for those who have a need to find theatrical expression both on the page and on their feet.

A collaboration between Lucid Body founder, Fay Simpson, and Screenwriter Frederick Johntz, this is an opportunity never before offered.

Frederick JohntzFrederick Johntz has been working in theatre, film and television for over 25 years.   He has directed and acted in plays in San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York and Berlin.  Productions include:  Little Murders, Dark Hours, Down the Pike, Dark Song, Birthday Girl, Lady Lay, Ecstasy and the Ice Queen, and Danny and the Deep Blue Sea among others.

Frederick has written numerous screenplays including:  Love ‘em to Death, Kicking Ash,Deception, and The Last Cemetery in Berlin, which is scheduled to go into production in spring of 2015.  His short-film Toast was winner of the Cine Golden Eagle award.  He has worked extensively as a story and creative consultant in film and television.  Productions include:  The Longest Ride, Power (Starz Network), The Inevitable Defeat of Mister and Pete, Middle of Nowhere, Faster, Notorious, Not Forgotten, Black Irish, Roll Bounce, Barbershop 1 & 2, and Men of Honor.

Frederick has taught directing, writing and acting at the American Film Institute, The University of California at Los Angeles, the Hollywood Film Institute, the Promenade Playhouse, the Film Farm in Kotla, Poland, and Die Tankstelle, and the Actors Space in Berlin Germany.
