Raniah as an actor and writer, has worked in London, Edinburgh, New York and regionally in the U.S. Born in Saudi Arabia, raised in London, Raniah trained at the BRIT School for Performing Arts and, later, studied with Michael Howard in NYC for two years. In the late ’90s Raniah ran Sleeve Productions with creative partner Alex Donnelly-Palmer, writing and producing new works in London and at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. She continues to perform and create theatre, using the vast Lucid Body toolbox as the foundation for her creative process.
Raniah found Lucid Body, or it found her, in 2009, at a time in her life when getting into her body and out of her head was paramount. What amazes her still about the work is its ability to not only transform one’s acting but also its ability to transform a person from their soul to their physical alignment and everything in between. She has had the pleasure of assisting Fay Simpson at Red Bean Studios, the New School, and at workshops in Paris and Berlin. Plans are underway to take Lucid Body back to her native London and share this work with the other side of the pond!
